Waterproofing the Floor
A flexible epoxy resin was set into a thick fibre-glass serim which extended 150mm up the walls. This resin formed a flexible tanking membrane.
Creating Falls (Resin)
Falls were created with an epoxy screed, falling towards a central gallery. Coving and floor were laid simultaneously to ensure a seamless homogenous finish. The use of a resin screed for this aspect of the contract enabled the resin floor to be laid immediatley since no drying out was necessary.

Screed & Cove Laying
The epoxy floor screed and cove were laid simultaneousy. Battens were used on the floor and wall to ensure uniform coverage of the terrazzo mix.
Grinding
The Terrazzo was ground off by hand and subsequently diamond polished. Grouting proceeded and the floor was left for 48 hours to cure. It should be noted that the stainless steel galley top was protected at all times.

Sealing
Following removal of the grout and a period for drying out, the resin was sealed with a light stable polyurathane and treated with a light anti-slip sprinkle.
