Before Floor Replacement
The existing floor consisted of carpet tiles laid onto timber access floor panels, beneath which service cables ran. The whole floor was supported on mini acro props, each adjustable in height. The client required a portugese limestone floor (which we procured for them) instead of the carpet. Work also involved the design and installation of new man hole frames and covers also containing the limestone.
Limestone Man Holes
The first phase of the process involved stabilisation of the existing timber panels. The man holes were introduced into the floor to facilitate access to the cables beneath the floor. New matwells and frames were manufactured by Premfloor and installed at each entrance for Health and Safety purposes.
Installing Limestone Tiles
Schluter Ditra matting was bonded across the entire floor to prevent sub-floor movement transferring up to the limestone. Work took approximatley two weeks, and was phased for the convenience of client & customer. A penetrating sealer provided anti-staining properties, and the floor was professionaly buffed to a high gleaming anti-slip shine.
