The store had undergone several nights of terrazzo repairs, tile replacements etc and required handover 4pm Monday. Terrazzo repairs are usually finished on a medium (e.g. 80 grit) and leave marks around the repairs on the shop floor. To conceal these repairs, a diamond polish of the floor is required. Our operatives were deployed on short notice, and spent the weekend polishing & sealing the entire store. The job was completed on time and within budget, with the client happy.
Premfloor operatives firstly clean the aisle of any debris/obstacles and sweep with a brush clearing loose surface items and use a scraper to remove stickers, gum and tape. Next we run through a series of diamond grades on a wet polishing scrubber dryer, and depending on the specification of the project move onto higher grit pads. We then seal the floor with a case hardener which takes around 1 hour, with a final cleanup with scrubber dryer, then hand back to the client.
Once the aisles have been handed back (usually processing two aisles simultaneously) we then work our way across the store over a number of nights. The final aisles completed are usually the main cross aisle, and the checkout area. Entrances/exits can only be done when the store is closed. In-house teams come in usually around 6am, and perform a store clean prior to open.
